This event will consider maritime security from various perspectives. The first half of the conference will consider the social, economic and political causes of insecurity including the impact on climate change on maritime security.  

The second half of the conference will consider EU actions to combat climate change and also the social and economic consequences of the insecurity.

The aim is to bring a more multi-disciplinary and holistic approach to the topic and bring military practitioners, environmental activists and local people together.
