The reform of the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) will shape the future of European fisheries and aquaculture. Given the current situation of crisis for the sector and the resources, the reform is urgent and the decisions to be taken can have far reaching consequences.
For the first time as co-legislator, the European Parliament will play a key role regarding the final outcome of a reformed CFP. The six designated rapporteurs on the reform proposals are currently drafting their reports.
The objective of this ALDE high level conference is to get an outline of the content of their respective reports and to have an exchange of views with the stakeholders in the presence of Commissioner Damanaki and the Danish EU Presidency.
